Another long weekend with lots of people on the ‘golden island’

This weekend, extended due to the 1st of July holiday, will once again be intense on the ‘golden island’, Porto Santo.

The Clube Naval do Porto Santo will host, this weekend, the first Madeira Cup for sailing schools. More than 40 athletes are registered.

The Atlântico Padel Tour will also be taking place this long weekend at the island’s tennis and padel complex. The games begin this Saturday and will feature the participation of more than 10 athletes.

Another golf tournament will be held, this time at the ‘A Gazela’ restaurant, with 19 golfers taking part.

Furthermore, the hotel units are very well occupied, with regional, national and foreign tourists.

Tourist movement is very intense, both in the city center and on the outskirts, in the mountains.

In terms of nautical activities, there is also movement in the waters of Porto Santo, with several semi-rigid boats from various nautical companies, which offer numerous visits to the islets and other strategic places that outsiders must visit.

In the restaurant industry, there is also no room for complaints, as DIÁRIO has already witnessed very good occupancy in the most diverse restaurants on the ‘golden island’.

The festival of St. Peter is not as big as St. John, but many people will be going up to the chapel of St. Peter from today until Sunday, because in addition to food and drink stalls, there will also be recreational activities, including music, during these three days of festivities. As a curiosity, tonight there will be the usual fish auction, which brings together dozens of people.

Of course, being a religious festival, there will be masses on the three days of the S Pedro festivities.

A long weekend is expected with lots of entertainment and lots of people, as both by plane and on the Porto Santo Line ship, trips are very well occupied.
