Madeira’s new public transport network on the road from Monday

The new public road passenger transport network in Madeira and Porto Santo, SIGA, will come into operation on Monday, Region Day, with a fleet of 127 new buses and free travel on all routes.

According to information provided by the Regional Government of Madeira, this new network will be operated by three concessionaires: Companhia de Autocarros da Madeira (CAM), Siga Rodoeste and Horários do Funchal (HF).

A renewed fleet, with a total of 127 new “more modern and ecological” buses, 59 more from CAM, 68 from SIGA Rodoeste and nine smaller, will travel across the two islands with a new image – except for Horários do Funchal, which maintains and will bear the network’s logo – these are some of the innovations.

The buses will have different models depending on the type of service to be provided.
