PJ seizes 150,000 packages of synthetic steroids in the Free Trade Zone

The Judicial Police, through the Criminal Investigation Department of Madeira of the PJ, within the scope of international police cooperation, carried out an investigation that allowed “identifying and locating a commercial company, strongly indicated for the import, export and distribution of prohibited substances”, states a note sent to the media. 

In searches carried out at facilities in the Madeira Industrial Free Trade Zone, in Caniçal, “around 150 thousand packages of synthetic anabolic steroids (injectable and oral)” were seized.

Two people, a man and a woman, employees of the company, were arrested for the crime of trafficking in prohibited substances and methods.

Refrigeration equipment, an industrial scale and other precision digital scales, material for packaging and shipping parcels, computer devices and various documentation were also seized.

The defendants are subject to non-custodial coercive measures.
